Dr. Steve Murdock
Dr. Steve Murdock is Director of the U. S, Census Bureau. He joined Texas A&M faculty in 1977; moved to University of Texas at San Antonio in 2004 and Rice University in 2007; author of 12 books on demographics; headed the Texas State Data Center; named Texas State Demographer in 2001 by Gov. Rick Perry; nominated U.S. Census Director by President Bush on June 18, 2007, confirmed by Senate in December, officially became director Jan. 4, 2008.
